How did they do for you? Any problems? And are they worth the extra price? I have very limited space but love tomatoes. I use a 4x8 raised bed and can do 2-4 tomato plants, depending on size and habit. (I like to grow other things, too!) Trying to make up my mind. Thanks

June 11, 2013 June 11, 2013 <![CDATA[Garden Help]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/650/garden-help Does anyone have any ideas how to prevent the deer from eating my fruit trees. I have newly planted 4 fruit trees. They are to tall for a fence around they, yet short enough the deer can get to them. My apples tree was covered with blossoms the first night we had it planted. Next morning it was practically bare. I live in a small town surrounded by woods. We not allowed to use a B-B gun or pellet gun to stum them. It seems they come thru around three in the morning. I've tried deer spray and marigolds, but not a hugh success yet.

I also have fout tomoato plants I have kept on my front porch. Three are covered with blossoms, with the exception of the grape tomato. This is the first time I have tried the grape. Do they need something different.?

Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

<![CDATA[Burpee Plants?]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/655/burpee-plants Hey guys, has anyone ordered live plants from Burpee? I ordered the roma super sauce plants. The first time they came, they were one of the saddest plants I had seen. Even after waiting, and then planting them outside, they are still so so droopy. I complained to the customer service, and they sent me another set of the same plants. These plants were even sadder than the first set! Two plants are almost dying (they are just drying up).

I actually had better luck starting my plants from seed. They came out very robust, and are doing so well in the garden. They all have started flowering and I expect fruits very soon.

I am just surprised at the quality of plants that burpee sent out. What has the typical experience been?

Thanks.
