I have just dug up my broad bean plants as they have now finished producing my dinner for the last 6 weeks or so. The raised bed is 3 metres by 1 metre but only 20cm in depth. I have a row of spring onions that are doing fine but have loads of empty space. Can you give me some ideas what I can grow for the rest of the year and into spring before I plant broad beans again. (qua oc cho)

<![CDATA[Garden Beans]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/659/garden-beans I have planted bush blue lake 274 beans for years with good results. But this year I have had zero germanation. I bought the large value pack at menards and planted them but after over 2 weeks nothing. I took the pack back to menards and got another package and planted and again zero germanation. This cannot just be me. Has anyone else had this problem with the Bush Blue Lake 274 beans????

<![CDATA[Vegetables]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/609/vegetables I have had great success growing Burpee''s Bush Bean. However, age and arthuritis in the back has made it difficult for me to harvest the beans. I have 2 rows of yellow and 2 rows of green beans 35' long each year. If I were to install chicken fencing along each row would the beans climb up on the fencing so it would make it easier for picking? I know there are climbing beans but we prefer the bush beans. I do this with my cucumbers and it works very well.

<![CDATA[Hot from Facebook: Abundance of Beans? ]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/448/hot-from-facebook--abundance-of-beans-
"I have a few varieties of bush 'snap' beans that really got away from me (even after canning about 40 quarts). They're getting huge and I'm wondering if I can let them dry on the plants and save them as dried beans? I know there are certain varieties that are solely for drying but thought I'd ask if anyone has saved regular 'snap' beans."

"None of my green beans have produced. It has been horribly hot and dry. I have tried to keep them watered but I think the heat just sucks the water right up. Will they ever produce or should I just tear them down and compost and try again next summer?"

<![CDATA[growing, not sprouting, mung beans]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/451/growing%2C-not-sprouting%2C-mung-beans

I have had great success sprouting mung beans I ordered a few wks ago. But I'm down to about 50 beans from my pkt of 300, so I was hoping to grow some this yr using the last few remaining seeds. Is it possible, where they are grown in much warmer climates than Massachusetts in the USA?
