How do I know which pests are good and which pests are bad?

Well, after bees, I understand butterflies are the next in line for pollinators.  Of course ladybugs are good for eating aphids.  Also, lacewings are good to have in the garden.  If you plant brightly colored flowers, like zinnias, sunflowers, marigolds (which also keep mosquitoes away) and butterfly bush, they will attract the good bugs.  Ladybugs usually find their way without an invite.  Milkweed is good to attract butterflies too.  I hope this has been helpful and happy gardening.
