First Garden

Hi guys. I bought a house with an already established vegetable garden but I have never had a garden before. That picture is from the home inspection and they ripped everything out of the ground and left it in a heap. I don't know exactly what they had planted. Is there anything I should do before the first snowfall (Western PA) -- spread mulched leaves over the planting area?? I guess I'm looking for advice and tips for a newbie.

Thanks!

Aaron

Re: First Garden

Hi, Aaron,

If the previous owners pulled out the living vegetables, because it is end of season, then all you need do is compost these plant parts over the winter.

If they pulled out the raised beds, and the vegetables, then it is a time to start over. Hopefully, it is the first situation.
