composting rhurbarb leaves

Does anyone know if I can put Rhurbarb leaves in my compost pile. I know they are poisonous to eat, that is why I am asking..... Thankyou so much for your help.

Yes.  It is safe to compost rhubarb leaves.  The leaves contain oxalic acid which makes them toxic if eaten, but it will not effect the quality or safety of your compost.  Oxalates occur in low levels in numerous edible plants including spinach, sorrel and oxalis.  Oxalates also occur in many common house plants, such as philodendrine and peace lily, and makes them toxic to curious house-cats.
