I have had great success growing Burpee''s Bush Bean. However, age and arthuritis in the back has made it difficult for me to harvest the beans. I have 2 rows of yellow and 2 rows of green beans 35' long each year. If I were to install chicken fencing along each row would the beans climb up on the fencing so it would make it easier for picking? I know there are climbing beans but we prefer the bush beans. I do this with my cucumbers and it works very well.

Re: Vegetables

For almost all varieties of green bean there is a similar variety that will climb. Another option is to use a container for some of your vegetables. This past few years has brought on alot of vegetables that work very well in containers such as beans, tomatoes and even sweet corn!
