<![CDATA[Re: Want to try peas this year]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/596/want-to-try-peas-this-year?commentid=1827 Although peas can be trellised I usually don't fine the vines go very far. Short 4ft fences or the more traditional assemblage of 2ft twigs seem to do ok. Most pea recommendations say 2-3 inches apart for growing, so your support should likewise be <6"gaps.

<![CDATA[Re: Want to try peas this year]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/596/want-to-try-peas-this-year?commentid=1962 Many of the snow peas come as determinant varieties with vines of less than 18". While distributors say no trellis is necessary I've had limited success thees last 2 years. Home Depot and other garden centers sell low ornamental folding fence for about $6 per 10 ft. section. I'm going to try this for my fall planting. Less work for the lazy guy and reuseable.
