cold frame garden

What vegetables (aside from lettuce) can I successfully grow in a cold frame that is 6' x 6' and 6" high in zone 8. I had terrible luck with corn, tomatoes, and green peppers last spring/summer. Maybe it was just the weather here on the coast of Washington last year with very little sun, but maybe I planted the wrong things too.

Re: cold frame garden

Spring vegetables can be more than lettuce!! Try some of the kales, cabbages, carrots and colorful chards as well.  The height will be a challenge for summer veg but they can be started and grow in the cold frame and really should be transferred to the garden when the summer heat arrives.

Re: cold frame garden

Thank you, Kate. The problem is that the cold frame IS my garden. What I plant there will stay there.
