tomato seeds v. plants

I am trying to decide if I should start my tomato garden using seeds or just wait and buy tomato plants. Which one has the most success? Any suggestions on either?

Anytime you can start with a plant you are better off. By using a plant you know what you have, when sowing seed you won't know if they will germinate. If you have the time and space you can start your own plants inside from seeds and then move them outside at correct time which is cheaper then buying plants from others.

With tomatoes where you only want one or two plants it makes sense to start with plants. If however, you are hooked on trying several different varieties and have enough room, then consider seeds! Some vegetables like lettuce where you can use lots of plants, it makes more sense to buy the seed packet.
