<![CDATA[Burpee Community - ]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/484/flowers- en-US Burpee //d1l316k04n1hna.cloudfront.net/static/images/burpee-favicon.png 16 16 Burpee http://www.burpee.com/community/ <![CDATA[Re: flowers]]> http://www.burpee.com/community/discussion/484/flowers-?commentid=1478 Marigolds and sunflowers are the easiest things to grow.  Start them inside early to transplant them outside, or just plant the seeds outside when it's warm enough, past last frost date.  Provide them plenty of sun to partial sun.  Stake the sunflowers early with something substantial.  Are you growing sunflowers for cut flowers or seed?  I can't get seeds because of all the critters, especially the goldfinches and squirrels.  Keep the seed sunflowers away from the fence lines so the squirrels have less access.  But enjoy the birds, as they are unstopable.
