Question about Top Hat Blueberry

This is the first year I planted a top hot blueberry.  Will it produce fruit this year?  (I am in Zone 7).  If not, should I remove any blooms once they start to emerge?

Re: Question about Top Hat Blueberry

It will not produce fruit the first year and  even if it produces flowers please remove the flowers to keep the strength in the plant. Make sure your soil has a pH of about 5.0 blueberries want acid soil.

Re: Question about Top Hat Blueberry

I have one in a container too. I was told to put spagnum peat moss with it when I planted it. Is it ok for now and I can possibly repot it into a larger pot and add more soil with it in the spring? Thanks I am new to this.

It is better to wait until the spring to repot it. Only move. up one size and use a good quality potting soil. Blueberries need a soil with a pH 5.0 so you will have to add peat moss to lower the pH.
