Re: tomatoes how to

The modern hybrids tend to produce more than the heirlooms.  Start  tomatoes  inside 6 to8 week before the last frost date. Move the plants to the garden when the temperature remains above 60 degrees at night. Tomatoes need a good garden soil with a lot of organic matter mixed in. They need a full sun area. They need a lower nitrogen fertilizer like a 5-10-5 fertilizer  Plant the Tomatoes  2-3 feet apart.

Tomatoes want their soil to be evenly moist all the time. They want regular application of fertilizer. Tomatoes produce best if the temperature is between 70 and 80 degrees. Tomatoes will stop producing it the temperature remains above 95 degrees.

If you have the space you should rotate the tomatoes the following year with beans.
