Re: blight

There are some ways to help prevent the fungus. Remove all the debris from the garden in the winter and do not plant tomatoes in the same spot. Use a mulch to help prevent the spores from splashing up.  A fungicide will help prevent the spread of the disease but will not cure it. Your county extensions service will have recommendations in your area as well as a spray schedule.

Re: blight

Blight is a fungus that infects many plants, this time of year there is a lot of late blight on tomatoes. It usually occurs under humid conditions and you will see lesions on both leaves and stems. First black and later the lesion turn brown as it dries up. Active lesions are often surrounded by a halo of gray-green.  Blight will spread to the fruit causing dark greasy looking lesion on the fruit. If you plants become infected remove the plant and destroy do not put in the compost bin. If you are talking about a different plant let me know.
