I've ordered these peas to try. I grow my entire vegetable garden in pots. I've used many different types of containers. I usually go for plastic. They are lighter and can be moved more easily.

As for topping pea vines...I'm no expert, but I don't think trimming the vines is good idea. May damage entire plant.
