Under window fragrance

I have just moved into a rental home and plan to be here for a couple of years.  At homes I have owned, I have always planted Lilacs and enjoyed them.  Because of the rental situation, however, I don't have the time to develop "slower" plants but would love to have something under the kitchen window to provide fragrance.

Moderate to full sun, 6 hours a day.  I am in central Minnesota

Would welcome suggestions,  thanks

Re: Under window fragrance

There are several scented annuals that should grow well: Moonflowers, Heliotrope, Stock, alyssum, sweet pea,  and sweet William they all have a fragrance

Perennials  that have a fragrance, Dianthus, Monarda, mint, lavender, Star gazer Lilies, hyacinth.

If you are looking for something a little different, this year we have David Austin Roses that have an old fashion rose fragrance.
