Strawberries

I bought a Burpee eco-friendly seed starting greenhouse kit and wanted to try strawberries in them.  Will they work well in that product?  Can I transfer them to a large pot after they start up or do they need to be placed in the ground?

Re: Strawberries

Ok, thanks!  So if I just plant them in a pot then they will be alright in there and do not necessarily need to be in the ground?  I don't have a yard so I was hoping to have them in small pots or one large pot.

Re: Strawberries

It all depends on if you bought in bare root strawberries or potted plants. The bare root plants have too big a root system to fit in the eco-friendly kit. These need to be planted directly in bigger pots or in the ground. The potted strawberries may be small enough to plant indoors, but the kit is still not the ideal set up.
