High Yield Vegetables

Which plants are the highest yielding plants?  I'm trying to lower my dependence on shopping for veggies at the grocery store and start growing them myself.  I'm most interested in tomatoes, peppers and lettuce but I'm open to any other plant ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Re: High Yield Vegetables

Depending on your space you can consider adding the following in addition to your excellent choices.  We would reccomend; Bush Beans( if you have a trellis, the vinig type would be most space efficient), Cucumbers (a trellis works well again), Squash, Potatoes.  Other good suggestions would be to add organic matter to your soil as well as a balanced natural fertilizer to increase your yields.  If you haven't already considered it, you may want to have your soil tested for optimal performace.

Happy Gardening!!!
