Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved them, ordering again I grew these last year and loved them! They grew healthy and produced tons of great tasting beans. They are MUCH easier to find when picking and I didn't have a problem with spines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bean We grew these beans in an Earthbox last year. They grew to about 7 feet tall and were very prolific. Wonderful flavor and stringless. We will definitely grow again this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of Our Favorites! We started these in our container garden last year and, even growing in pots, they were fast growing and produced lots of beans. We had three major sets throughout the summer, even when the temps went sky high and everything else stopped producing. The beans are a wonderful purple color when raw, and turn green when cooked. The color change is actually a very handy indicator for when all the veggies in your garden stir fry are done cooking and ready to be eaten.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bean ever! This was an amazing bean to grow. The plants produced all season long-until the weather started turning cold. Many quarts were canned from just 1 packet!. You know how beans get woody as they get bigger? These beans can get to a bigger size and still be great eating. This bean is a must have and is on top of my seed shopping list!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful!!! This was my first year growing green beans, and I am shocked at how easy they were to grow. I went to my local hardware store and purchased two 10 ft. poles, planted 4 seeds around each pole, and they are now 10 ft. tall and filled with flowers and beans. And did I mention that they are so tasty! Will be growing these next year for sure!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite beans, ever I was so worried when I didn't see these beans in the printed catalog -- whew, they are still online. I have gardened in containers all my life, starting out on a roof deck in the South End. Now outside the city 20 years later, I still do, because the soil in our neighborhood is contaminated with lead. These beans perform magnificently. They take the confined conditions in stride, and produce well till frost. Because of my limited space, every bean is precious, and I started growing the purple ones so that I wouldn't miss seeing any in the dense thicket of foliage. The flowers are pretty, too, and the end result has all the bean flavor you could want. I do have a quibble, however -- the description here says they grow 15-20 inches tall, same as the bush equivalent Purple Queen. That has to be a typo. Mine have grown vigorously 6-7 feet and more, sometimes. I also want to praise Burpee seed quality. I don't use up the whole packet each year, so I plant them the following year, and the year after that (most recently). Germination is still excellent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful, productive bean I've planted this bean for 3 seasons, now, and it produces bountifully, even with old seeds. Not only does it look gorgeous climbing up the deck rail or over the fence, but it keeps on going until fall if you keep picking. Even the larger beans are tasty. Completely out-produced my bush beans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must try! I've grown purple bush beans for years, now that I have a more limited space I wanted to see how the pole bean variety would do in a tub growing up Burpee's bean tower . . . One word: "Awesome!" Beans were prolific, flavorful, and produced till hard frost. For those with limited space, you too can have tasty beans as often as you want without the big garden!
